Whitewater Instruction & Trips

We offer a variety of whitewater instruction and guided trips for beginners to advanced paddlers, which can be found listed below. Our base location is at Lake Whitney, but we are always willing to drive to water near you for an additional cost. Just contact us for more information.

Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking Skills Course

Half Day on Lake

Description: Beginner friendly, this course will walk you step by step through the knowledge and skills you need to become a competent whitewater kayaker. The class covers: proper boat fit, the wet exit, the hip snap, strokes, edging, and bracing.

Duration: Half Day, 3 hours

Location: Lake Whitney

Price: Group (3 or more): $75/person

Private (1-2 people): $100/person

Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking Skills Course

Full Day on Lake

Description: This class will give you the confidence you need to head to the river. It covers proper boat fit, river terminology, the wet exit, strokes, edging, bracing, rescues and highlights the kayak roll.

Duration: Full Day, 6 hours

Location: Lake Whitney

Price: Group (3 or more): $150/person

Private (1-2 people): $200/person

Kayak Roll Clinic

Description: The kayak roll is the foundation of whitewater kayaking. When you have a solid roll you can really dial in your skills on the river. We teach a variety of rolls which make our clinics great for beginner to advanced paddlers.

Location: Lake Whitney

Price: $50/person per hour

San Marcos River Trip

Description: The San Marcos River is a great place for beginner to intermediate paddlers to practice their skills. This course covers paddling terminology, safety, portaging hazards, river reading, scouting, how to empty your boat, bracing, effective body usage, eddying, ferrying, and so much more.

Duration: Full Day, 6 hours

Location: San Marcos, Texas

Price: Group (3 or more): $250/person

Private (1-2 people): $350/person
